El relato del camino a Emaús como modelo de hermenéutica comunitaria

Abstract

The account of the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35) stands as one of the most significant narratives in the Gospel of Luke to reflect on the experience of the risen Christ, the understanding of Scripture, and communal transformation. This article offers a theological-narrative reading of the text with emphasis on the dynamic of communal hermeneutics: a process in which the Risen One accompanies, interprets, and reveals himself amid confusion and despair. Through exegetical analysis of the passage’s key elements —the conversation on the road, the interpretation of Scripture, and the gesture of broken bread— it is argued that this narrative provides an ecclesiological framework for the post-Easter Church: a community that discerns while journeying, listens to the Word amid suffering, and recognizes Christ in the breaking of bread. Finally, several theological and pastoral implications for the contemporary Church are proposed.
